The wellbeing of all students, families and staff is greatly valued at Mount Blowhard Primary School. We have many practices in place to ensure an inclusive, caring and safe school environment for all. Each classroom teacher builds a positive and safe environment for their students to work in.
Mount Blowhard Primary School is implementing the 'School Wide Positive Behaviour Support' program. This approach focuses on identifying, teaching and rewarding the behaviours we want to see in students. Our school has a positive and accepting culture where effort is valued, and all students know the importance of trying their best.

WELLBEING LESSONS
Each class from F – 6 engages in weekly/fortnightly wellbeing lessons. These lessons incorporate content from the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program, as well as the Bounce Back program. There is a focus on practising gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. BUDDY PROGRAM Each year our Foundation students are paired with an older student from the senior classroom as their buddy. This provides a smoother transition into primary school for the younger students. Senior students are also given the responsibility of looking out for others and being a positive role model. |
STUDENT OF THE WEEK AWARD
Each week at our whole school assembly, one student from every class receives the Student of the Week award. This award recognises students for their learning achievements, positive behaviour and demonstrating the school rules and values. POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPERSTAR AWARD
The PB (positive behaviour) Superstar Award is presented by staff twice a term during our whole school assembly. This award is given to a student from each class who consistently demonstrates outstanding positive behaviour at school and is a role model for their peers. |
