PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Picture
Welcome! Mount Blowhard Primary School is approximately 15 kilometres north of Ballarat and is an integral part of the local community. Our learning programs and school events respect the history and traditions of our rural community, but is within reach of the city – the best of both worlds.  Our well-resourced school is set on large grounds with room for our students to run and play.

We are committed to providing the best educational outcomes for all students, and in particular building a solid foundation in English and Mathematics. Our broader curriculum includes Science, Physical Education, Art, Technology, History and Music, with a strong focus on civics and citizenship. We work tirelessly to know and understand each child to ensure they each reach their learning potential. We offer a Systematic Synthetics Phonics reading program (Foundation to Year 3) with additional phonics support as needed in the senior classrooms. We also offer excellent Writing, Spelling and Maths programs across all year levels.

At Mount Blowhard Primary School, we believe in developing leadership skills in our students. Juniors are inspired to learn from older students as they lead assemblies, speak in public, greet visitors, thank guests, and perform in public. We also encourage healthy choices in an active learning environment, as well as an excellent skill based Physical Education program.

We have an active parent body with monthly Parents & Friends and School Council meetings. Parents provide  support in many aspects of our school, and being a smaller school means we have developed a highly personalised and caring community environment.

Please contact us if you require additional information or have any questions. You are welcome to visit our school at any time.
